Pioneer Village

We asked Marie what she wanted to see in Arizona. She said she didn't know, but she wanted to learn about Arizona. So, the Pioneer Village is a little western town museum about 2 miles from our house. The kids all go there on field trips, so we thought that might be a great learning opportunity. Trevor weighed in and said that it was a super boring place. But we thought he was just being a whiner.

Nope...He was very accurate! It is only open from 8am to 2pm, Wed. - Sun. and since our kids (including Marie) sleep in until 11:30 lately, I decided we could just run over during my lunch break and see it. Dumb, dumb, dumb!!!!! It was super hot!!!! We were the only ones there (which I now know why!). And, it was so lame!!!! For instance, there was a historical bakery there, which turned out to be the shell of an old bakery...Literally, just side walls and a roof. Apparently it had burned down like years ago. Now really, is that educational at all? I think poor Marie thought we were trying to bake her in the desert, disguised as a lame-o historic museum. Oh, well. It's the thought, right?
