At long last, OK, not so long last, he's only 17, Jake got his first job. He was hired at Toys R' Us.
He went in one day and did all of his paperwork. Then on 11/19, he went in for his first shift. He was donned in his required red collared shirt and khaki or black slacks (so if this doesn't work out he is ready for Target.) He brought home his first check. $7.44. It was a big day. He and Tanner sat with his next week's schedule and tallied out what he would get on his next pay check. (Too bad they sent him home everyday)
But it's some money and learning how to work and I am very grateful for that. We are very proud of you buddy! Way to go!
On a side note, he was adamant that we get him a bank account very shortly after that. He has been checking the mailbox daily for his debit card. It finally came yesterday (12/5) but it wasn't nearly as fun as he thought when he got to pay for the Thirstbusters! :) It was fun for me though!
