Trev and I rode our bikes up to our hiking hill - the road there includes some pretty steep grades, followed by a steep gravel road. It was tough, but we made it. It was beautiful in the morning. (except for the prison crew that was cleaning the side of the highway not far from us - their orange jumpsuits clashed with the desert colors - which I think is the point of them. :) We definitely supported Phoenix's sweatiest city status. Even at 6am - ish, we were sweating like hogs.
